This application is for the Affordable Textbook Grant Adoption program. Instructors will be awarded for courses they redesign to no-cost course materials for Spring 2025. This grant supports UT Tyler's Strategic Plan initiative to increase the use of Open Educational Resources (OER) and low-cost textbooks, making college education more affordable.

You can apply to adopt an OER or library-provided course materials for your course individually, as a group (at least 3 instructors), or as a department (all sections of course).

True OER are Creative Commons licensed and give instructors the ability to retain, reuse, revise, remix, and redistribute their content. OER are more flexible for instructors and students - instructors have control to tailor content for their course and students maintain access to OER materials after a course ends.

No-cost materials include library purchased content (e-books, journal articles), open access materials, free online resources, or other non-Creative Commons licensed content that may have rights reserved copyright licenses.

Please select whether you plan to adopt Open Educational Resources (OER) or no-cost materials. Select both if you plan to adopt both OER and library-provided.
